A Holistic Approach to Treatment

Your overall well-being influences your ability to conceive. At Heartland Fertility, we believe that every patient should have access to the best possible care to promote a healthy pregnancy during fertility treatments. Many patients seek to complement their IVF treatments with alternative holistic therapies. There are a number of holistic treatments that can help to achieve harmony with the reproductive system, and Heartland supports integrating alternative treatments that are right for each individual patient.

Many of our patients have worked acupuncture into their treatment plan as it can help ease the stress and anxiety that is inherent to infertility treatment. Acupuncture has also been shown to be effective in treating a variety of concerns associated with fertility treatment and pregnancy, including: gynecological and fertility disorders, discomfort during ART (assisted reproductive technology) procedures, side effects of fertility drugs and morning sickness11. W. E. Paulus and M. Zhang, et al., “Influence of acupuncture on the pregnancy rate in patients who undergo ART,” Fertility and Sterility, vol. 77, no. 4 (Apr. 2002).

Infertility Counseling

Your emotions will run the gamut as you go through treatment for infertility. Stress, joy, frustration, anger…and everything in between. Caring for your emotional and psychological needs is just as important as addressing your physical needs. Our partner counselors can be an invaluable part of your journey. They are there to listen, provide support and give you the tools necessary to deal with each phase of your treatment. Counseling services at Heartland Fertility are standard practice in accordance to CFAS and ASRM guidelines.

Nutritional Guidance

Preparing your body for pregnancy is one of the ways you can take charge during your treatment. The basics include eating well, exercising and avoiding smoking and alcohol. When you optimize your health, you can increase your chance of getting pregnant and of experiencing a healthy pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery.
